ABOUT TAMALES BETTY



The story of Tamales Betty is the familiar tale of a home cooked recipe. In 1988, Manuel and Bertha Samaniego, were raising a family of six. They had the need and opportunity to start a small business in the food industry. After some thought, they decided that San Diego needed high quality, home-made tamales. They began to home cook them and sell them in their neighborhood.

Throughout time, they began to expand their clientele, and soon they began a daily route that included; SouthEast area,Linda Vista, Old Town, Pacific Beach, and Downtown area.

Tamales Betty's distinguished taste comes from BETTY'S secret recipe, along with the quality products used to make the tamales. In addition, they are not frozen. Rather, they are freshly made and cooked daily.
